Blue Buggy Is EB05's Quiet Climber: Three Clash Top 8s and the Alvida Engine
While everyone argues about Rocks and RG Luffy, Buggy (OP09-042) has quietly put up three Top 8 finishes in the last five Conqueror's Clash events. Two belong to the same player, which tells you the deck rewards reps. Full lists are in the Conqueror's League meta analytics.
The results
- Rebochac 🇲🇽: 5th at Clash #20 and 4th at Clash #21 (6-1 both times)
- Moises 🇵🇦: 6th at Clash #22 (6-1)
Rebochac is no newcomer: he won Clash #9 with Purple-Yellow Robin.
How the deck works
The leader can rest 5 DON!! and trash a card to play a Cross Guild Character from your hand, so it cheats big bodies out at awkward timings. The EB05 piece is 4 Alvida (EB05-021), which draws 2 and plays a Cross Guild Character of cost 8 or less, and negates an opposing Character's effect when it attacks. That gives you card advantage, tempo and disruption in one card.
The shared core across all three lists:
- 4 Mr.3 (OP09-056), 4 Cabaji, 4 Mohji, 4 Alvida (ST25-001)
- 4 Dracule Mihawk (OP09-048), 4 Buggy (OP09-051)
- 4 Crocodile & Mihawk (ST25-003), which draws 2 and drops a cost-4-or-less Cross Guild Character
- 4 Cross Guild (OP09-057) for searching, 2 Gravity Blade Raging Tiger
Moises' twist
Moises ran 2 Boa Hancock (EB05-028), which makes the opponent trash 4 if they hold 9 or more cards. It's a meta call against slow, hand-heavy decks like Yellow Enel. He also added 4 Buggy (OP12-049) and 2 Slave Arrow.
The numbers behind it
In the first EB05 ranked week, Buggy posted the best win rate in TCG Matchmaking's top 4 at 58.8%, though on a smaller sample than the decks around it. In the Clash, it has 3 Top 8s and no win yet.
Should you bring it?
If your local meta is Rocks-heavy and you know the lines, Buggy is a strong pick: Alvida's negate answers key on-field effects. Just practice the DON!! math first, because misplaying the leader's activation loses games.
