Clash #23's Other Story: Purple Kaido, EB05 Robin and Sabo Crash the Top 8
Bleack won Conqueror's Clash #23 (EB05 Edition) 7-0 with Rocks, a week after winning Clash #21, and three RG Luffy decks made the Top 8. But the 122-player event on Friday, October 30 had six different leaders in the Top 8. Here are three you shouldn't sleep on. Full lists live in the Conqueror's League meta analytics.
2nd: fortnitekid's Purple Kaido (6-1)
fortnitekid 🇨🇱 (KRS) took second with Kaido (OP17-058), a leader that can give an opposing Character −2000 power by returning a DON!! when attacking or being attacked. The EB05 piece is 4 Black Maria, a 1-cost Character that looks at the top 3 and grabs an Animal Kingdom Pirates card. The core around it: 4 Queen (EB04), 4 King (EB04), 3 Kaido (EB04), 4 Yamato, 4 + 1 of the 10-cost Kaidos, 3 ST34 Linlin and 4 Mamaragan.
5th: SPNightShade's Green-Yellow Robin (6-1)
The first EB05 leader we've seen in a Clash Top 8. SPNightShade 🇨🇱 piloted Nico Robin (EB05-010), which adds a Life card when a non-Blocker Wisdom Character is K.O.'d and can set a Wisdom Character active once per turn. The list leaned into EB05 Wisdom cards: 4 Atlas, 4 Nojiko, 4 Gloriosa, 4 Nami and 4 Robin (EB05-016), plus 4 Borsalino, 4 Rayleigh and 3 Shanks as top end.
6th: Issen's Red-Black Sabo (6-1)
Issen 🇲🇽 (TT) brought Sabo (OP13-004) with 3 Ripley and 2 Yamato from EB05. Yamato gains Blocker and +3000 if your opponent has a Character with 8000 base power or more, a nice tech against big Rocks boards.
Ranked agrees, mostly
On TCG Matchmaking's first EB05 Power Rankings, shared by Egman Events, Purple Kaido sits 6th (50.3% win rate) and Sabo 7th (50.5%), behind Rocks, Yellow Enel, RG Luffy, Buggy and Luffy & Ace.
Our take (opinion)
Rocks and Luffy are still your first two test matchups. But if your list folds to a purple DON!! deck or a Life-gaining Robin, Swiss will find you.
