Sabo Didn't Miss the Memo
While Rocks steals headlines, Red/Black Sabo (OP13-004) has been quietly stacking paper-adjacent sim hardware: 2nd at ChinoizeCup 128, multiple top fours, and constant presence on the EB05+OP18 Top Decks board. Early EB05 meta notes even flag Sabo as one of the most played rebuilt shells — Ripley and friends in almost every list — even when win rate is still catching up to the hype.
For Conqueror's League nights, that means Sabo is a volume threat. You'll see it. You need a plan.
Why Sabo stays dangerous
- Proven podium finishes — ChinoizeCup 128 silver and repeated T4s aren't noise
- EB05 rebuild tools — Ripley-line upgrades that give the trash engine new teeth
- Pressure that ignores "fair" mid-games — Sabo wants you reacting, not building
- Good into greedy seats when the pilot knows the kill turns
What to watch
Respect the trash. Sabo converts discarded pieces into second and third waves that punish overextension into Rocks-style bounce. If you're brewing for Clash #next, dedicate sideboard slots specifically to Sabo's recursion — "generic removal" often isn't enough once the engine is online.
Meta context: Nakama Companion – Rocks Rules Week 1 covers how heavily Sabo showed up in the first EB05 online week.
