Rocks Is the Deck to Beat — Not the Deck That Always Wins
Blue Rocks D. Xebec is everywhere. That part isn't news. The news is what happened at two big paper events last weekend: Rocks showed up in force at both, and neither trophy went to Rocks.
BCF Manila: Purple/Yellow Robin takes it
Per RJ Jacinto, Jay Fangs won BCF Manila with Purple/Yellow Nico Robin, going 7-1 in Swiss and beating Blue/Yellow Boa in the final. RJ has the champion's decklist in his deck-tech video.
How thick was the Rocks field? OptcgApps noted that @twopaiiir ran into five Rocks in one day. Finalist Paulskie (@pewlskiii) posted his path: three Rocks in Swiss, another Rocks in Top 8, then Robin in the final.
Monterrey Regional: Purple Enel goes 4-0 vs Rocks
Over in Mexico, mati24mayo (@mcchileno24K) won the Monterrey Regional with Purple Enel (OP15-058). OptcgApps reports a 7-1 run and a 4-0 record against Rocks, on a leader that only ever has 6 DON!!. The full 50 is posted by OP TCG Spain: a pile of Enel events (El Thor, Varie, Kiten, Lightning Dragon, Mamaragan) behind a cheap search package.
What the data says
Rocks is still the gravity well. In Japan, torecamap has Blue Rocks at 41.5% usage (Oct 20–25). Across the Conqueror's League season stats, Rocks (OP17-039) is our most-played leader at 14.7% share with a 53.3% win rate, and PY Robin (OP09-062) sits right behind the top two at 9.3% share, 52.2% WR and 13 Top 4s.
So the lesson isn't "Rocks is beatable, ignore it." It's this: when everyone builds to beat everything, the player who builds specifically for Rocks gets paid. Robin and Purple Enel both took that lane.
Your homework before Clash Night
- Test your list against Rocks before anything else.
- Respect the dark horses: Robin and Purple Enel are already on the radar.
- EB05 hits English shelves Oct 30, so expect new tech fast.
Conqueror's Clash #22 (EB05 Edition) runs Thursday, Oct 29, and #23 runs Friday, Oct 30. Bring the anti-Rocks plan.
